Me, August 15, 1960, after riding my BMW from Albuquerque, New Mexico to Boston to visit friends and relatives at Harvard and Brandeis. I was resting on the lawns of Boston Commons when a persistent photographer inveigled me to take an expensive photo shot of me and my bike, because I could show it to people later on in life, (like 2012).
I envy the old guy in the United Health ad with all the Lab numbers on him riding his motorcycle on a plain that looks like the stretch of road from from Albuquerque to Juarez. Maybe I'll be the only 90 year old guy doing that.
I ran out of gas on the road from Juarez to Albuquerque in the middle of an empty stretch. Miraculously, I rolled down a hill where there was a gas station right at the bottom of the hill!
Here's to the Zen of riding motorcycles.
